File #011 | Authority is the Assignment
What if you've been obsessing over the wrong thing this whole time?
The real reason business still feels slow is because you're obsessing over the business. If you're anything like me you've been obsessing over what you're building rather than who it's for.
Romans 12:7-8 (NCV)
7 Anyone who has the gift of serving should serve. Anyone who has the gift of teaching should teach.8 Whoever has the gift of encouraging others should encourage. Whoever has the gift of giving to others should give freely. Anyone who has the gift of being a leader should try hard when he leads. Whoever has the gift of showing mercy to others should do so with joy.
Translation: Gifts are not for flaunting they are a responsibility and we use them for each other.
TL;DR
It's time to stop hiding behind the systems. I’ve been perfecting the house but barely sending out invites to the party. Authority serves with grace; out loud.
I have to tell on myself. I’ve been hiding behind the work.
“Still updating…” “Still refining…” “Just tweaking the system…” "Getting the space ready..."
Knowing dang well God isn’t measuring my workflow... He’s measuring my witness.
I feel safer with systems, safer hidden away than I do with people.
I was on a content idea walk when had the idea of sharing how obsessed I am with my business and why you should love it like I love it.... That's when it hit me you don't care about my business you care about what it can do for you...
I’ve been obsessed with the vision but distant from the women the vision is for.
Please receive this formal apology. I'm sorry for obsessing over my needs and not urs.
I'm sorry for not calling in those who are drowning in silence while I silently perfect the blueprint.
That’s not leadership it was fear wrapped in a to-do list.
And here’s the plot twist:
Authority doesn’t need perfect timing or flawless branding or a finished curriculum. Having all authority simply means I need to show up and speak directly to the ones God assigned to me.
I can’t keep hiding behind excellence when I've been asking God for evidence.
My voice is the invitation. My authority is access to the next level.
📓 Founder Reflection:
God didn’t give me authority to sit quietly. He gave me a message to serve boldly. Authority isn’t about being loud it’s about being present with the people God trusted you to lead.
